Championship Grants 2024 - 2025

Submissions are now being accepted. Submissions close at 2:00PM 29 May 2025 (AEST).

Championship grants of up to $10,000 are available to eligible organisers of championships and sporting events that bring more than 100 competitors and supporters to Tasmania, who stay in paid commercial accommodation for three nights or more and promote pre- and post-championship travel within the state as part of their event marketing. 

How it works 

Grants of between $3,500 and $10,000 are available to eligible organisers of championship and sporting events that: 

  • attract more than 100 people from outside Tasmania who 
  • stay three nights or more in paid commercial accommodation (hotel, motel, B&B, cabin). 
  • promote pre- and post-championship travel as a part of their event marketing. 

Grant amounts are determined by the number of interstate and international visitors the championship or sporting event will attract, and when and where in Tasmania it will be held. Please refer to section 9. Assessment process table for eligible amounts.

Applications close 2:00 pm, Thursday 29 May 2025.
